Since ITOCHU Corporation started exporting automobiles in 1958, it has developed a solid reputation as a pioneer in operating an automobile business within a general trading house.
ITOCHU Automobile Corporation was established in April 1996 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the automobile division of ITOCHU Corporation, with the aim of streamlining its parts supply and serving as a highly specialized organization in the automobile component industry.
The company has been supplying automobile and construction machinery components on an OEM basis as well as aftermarket and service parts, not only in Japan, but all over the world.
In recent years, our global procurement business of OEM parts has experienced robust growth. We have established in China a unique business model, in which we identify potential parts manufacturers, foster them into reliable OEM parts suppliers, and engage in all phases of the manufacturing value chain including development, production, quality control, and delivery management.
In 2008, we established a parts manufacturing subsidiary in China in order to further strengthen our procurement functions. By enhancing quality control and responding to customer needs in an accommodating manner, we are commencing a new chapter in our parts business which encompasses a wider range of activities, including manufacturing and parts trading.
